The firm does not accept instructions in three specific areas, namely: crime, family law and personal injuries/workers compensation. This is a conscious decision to allow the firm to concentrate on its core commercial practice areas. The firm has two specialist divisions – Commercial Law, Wills and Deceased Estates and General and Commercial Litigation.
Commercial Law, Wills and Deceased Estates
This division of the firm is supervised by Hugh Cahill. The division deals with all non-litigious commercial matters, including leasing and property development, business acquisitions and divestments, preparing and advising on loan and security documentation, advising potential franchisees, partnerships, retirement villages and aged care, trusts, business structures and succession planning. The division also provides legal advice with respect to wills and estate planning, powers of attorney and administration of deceased estates.
General and Commercial Litigation
Our General and Commercial Litigation division is supervised by Neale Billington. This division deals with a wide range of commercial and general litigation matters and regularly acts in a variety of areas, including testator’s family maintenance, contracts, employment, leases, corporate and trade practices.
